Humanitarian Aid

In 2002 we decided to change the focus of the charity and assist African countries, especially those that were stricken by HIV/AIDs.

We were introduced to a couple of very reliable local organisations that presented projects to us and we opted to initially work with two of them.

The first of these was to sink a borehole and install irrigation equipment in a village in Eastern Zambia called Katete.

This community project enabled the village to have two good crops a year and the profit from these would go to assisting local children who were infected/affected by HIV/AIDs.

The second project was a farm/school project on the outskirts of Lusaka. A fifty-acre farm had been donated to a local trust and they wanted to turn the site into a school. We stated we could help construct the school buildings but they needed to be self-sufficient.

They came up with a proposal that made the school self-sufficient through growing a variety of seasonal crops, which in turn paid for the free schooling of over five hundred local children.

We subsequently expanded this support and built a toilet/shower block that can be used by both the children and the local inhabitants
